SANA, Yemen: Yemen Houthi announced on Wednesday that they had launched cruise missiles “deep inside” Israel, although this claim has yet to be verified by Israeli authorities.
The Houthis stated that their missile force successfully targeted military sites in Israel using three Quds 5 cruise missiles.
They emphasized that the operation’s results remained undisclosed by Israeli military sources, adding an element of uncertainty regarding the attack’s effectiveness.
This statement follows a series of escalating missile attacks in the region, notably Iran’s launch of missiles aimed at Israel late Tuesday, which has further intensified the ongoing conflict. Just last week, the Houthis had claimed to have fired a missile at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, which prompted retaliatory airstrikes from Israel targeting Houthi positions in war-torn Yemen, particularly the critical port city of Hodeida.
The Houthi movement has maintained control over significant areas of Yemen for nearly a decade against perceived adversaries, including Israel and the United States.
Since November, the Houthis have also been conducting attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, positioning these actions as a show of solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza.
