ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi on Wednesday said that fresh elections was the only solution to win back the people’s mandate, as “nobody is ready to trust the incumbent government” adding that the new government will be able to resolve Pakistan’s problems.

The president said that it is necessary for every government to have the public support as this unites the nations during the crises. “The mistrust and concerns prevail in the country, therefore we should immediately go for fresh elections”, he said in an interview with private news channel ARY News.
Dr. Alvi said that there is no possibility of Martial Law in the country. Pakistan is a democratic country and political parties and politicians need to decrease their differences and find solutions to the problems through negotiations. Holding talks is always a better option in democracies.

No risk of economic default to Pakistan: Arif Alvi
The Arif Alvi said that he discussed the current economic situation of the country with federal minister for finance and revenue Ishaq Dar and liked his suggestions to for bringing financial stability in Pakistan. The president voiced hope that Pakistan would not be defaulted, saying that the talks of default should be avoided as it was dangerous for the economy and soft image of the country.

Replying to a query, he said that the new army chief General Syed Asim Munir is a professional chief and it is hoped that he will decrease the mistrust between institutions.
