ISLAMABAD: Two knockout matches of FIFA Football World Cup 2022 are scheduled for December 3, which is the 14th day of the World Cup tournament.
Today the following matches of the World Cup tournament will be played
- USA vs. Netherlands at 6 p.m./15:00 GMT (Khalifa International Stadium)
- Australia vs. Argentina (Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, 10 p.m./19 o’clock GMT)
USA Versus Netherlands
Christian Pulisic, the most expensive player in North American history, was injured while scoring the risky game-winning goal against Iran that advanced his team to the round of 16.
All eyes are on US Footballer Pulisic to see if he can make a comeback on Saturday.
Whether Pulisic, who suffered a pelvic contusion, starts against the Dutch, who defeated Senegal to win Group A, is uncertain.
The US team would suffer greatly if Pulisic in unable to play against Dutch team.
At the US team’s training camp on Thursday, 24-year-old Pulisic said that I am taking it day by day and I will utilize all my efforts to cooperate with the medical team to make himself eligible to play.
In order to defeat a young, cunning US football team, the Netherlands will look to Cody Gakpo, who has earlier scored three goals in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and striker of football Memphis Depay.
Australia Versus Argentina in FIFA World Cup 2022
Argentina is the clear favorite to defeat Australia after topping Group C after recovering from a loss by Saudi Arabian football team in the opening match of Group C. The Socceroos are ranked 35 points behind the Argentinians.
Notably, Saturday could make or break Lionel Messi’s career. If Argentina loses on Saturday, Messi may be playing in his final World Cup game, ending an illustrious career despite scoring twice in Qatar but still lacking a World Cup victory.
Although it is not yet official, Argentina’s football player Angel Di Maria, who was taken out from team during Argentina’s victory over Poland, will probably join the team on field. Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni said on Friday, that we will put all our efforts on this field to compete with Australia as we know that World Cup is not an ordinary football match.
