RAMALLAH: Newly appointed Saudi Arabia ambassador to Palestine, Naif Al-Sudairi presented his Letters of Credence to President Mahmoud Abbas.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas warmly received Saudi Arabia’s non-resident Ambassador to Palestine and Consul General in Jerusalem, during a historic visit to the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

Al-Sudairi presented his credentials to President Abbas, marking a significant milestone in Saudi-Palestinian relations. The visit underscored the importance of the Palestinian issue for Saudi Arabia, emphasizing principles of international legitimacy, the two-state solution, and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Upon arrival at the presidential headquarters, Al-Sudairi inspected an honor guard, and both Palestinian and Saudi national anthems were played. The Saudi delegation, led by Al-Sudairi, arrived in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

In response to the visit, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed it as an “important historical milestone” that strengthens bilateral relations and opens new avenues for cooperation in various fields. The ministry expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for the just and legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people in all international forums, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
