ISLAMABAD: Two Pakistani citizens were martyred and another injured after India’s Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire near the Pakistan-India international border in Kasur, according to Pakistani security sources on Friday.
The incident took place near Ladhar village in Punjab, where the three civilians were targeted after moving a few steps beyond a border pillar, the sources said.
According to the sources, all three men were unarmed and had not attempted to cross the border fence when the firing occurred.
The deceased were identified as Azmat Rasool Shah and Mohsin Jutt, both residents of Jattan Wali Haveli in Ladhar, according to the security sources.
The third Pakistani citizen sustained injuries in the firing and was shifted for medical treatment, the sources said.
They said that the BSF personnel opened fire without warning and described the incident as unprovoked.

They said that portraying the civilians as infiltrators was part of a broader pattern of presenting such incidents as infiltration or “false-flag” operations from India.
