SHANGLA: Shangla police crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists and leaders who were involved in vandalism on May 9 and 10 continues and a case has been registered against 35 under 3 MPOs in which 16 others have been arrested and raids are underway to arrest them.
Late night, police raided the houses of some prominent PTI leaders, including former provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai’s brother Liaquat Yousafzai.
A total of 16 activists and leaders were arrested at various police stations in Shangla district, for which a team of lawyers including Shangla Bar Association Chairman and Insaf Lawyers Forum Malakand Division General Secretary Jawad Ali Noor Advocate, Tehreek-e-Insaf Lawyers Forum President went to the Peshawar High Court.
Among those under the age of 16 arrested are Anwar Ali Jan, Hamidullah Khan, Nawabzada, Ihsan Bahadur, Khaliq Zaman, Ali Akbar, Nisar Muhammad Sulaiman Ameer, Pir Aman Khan, Ali Baz Khan, Khalil Muhammad, Faizullah, Rozi Khan, Muhammah who were immediately transferred to Jaulhan jahman Rehman after their arrest.
