A cat size frog, it is the world’s largest living frog ever seen in the records.
Its not less than a (human) baby, he says, which he got one in a rescue mission.
The Cameroonian conservationist was so excited that he set up a project to save for the future of the endangered species like this frog.
“When I found this frog, it was unique – the largest one in the world – I said this is a living frog that cannot easily be found elsewhere and I was really proud of this discovery,” he says.
“People in the region say they are blessed to have such a huge one like that; they attach to it a cultural value.”
For decades, this goliath frog has been over-hunted for eating and the as pet sale or purchase in the Cameroon and nearby Equatorial Guinea.
It is habitat beside rivers and water streams is fast being damaged or dying and the frog is now having classified as the endangered one on the extinction Red List by environmental experts.

The frog is hardly known to the scientists and even in Cameroon many local masses are not aware of its real value to the ecosystem, such as preying on the insects that damage crops.
They are also co-working with local civil groups to help set up many spicies saving activities like snail farming to provide an alternative food source for them.

Now really, the conservation work is begining to pay off, with the goliath frog is now coming back to new areas like rivers and water sources in the Mount Nlonako Reserve.
It was interesting when a call from a former poacher was heard in reporting a frog had been caught by a neighbour was a real turning point. Cedric was then able to save the frog from the capturing neighboredhood and return it to the wild.
