RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held separate phone calls with the foreign ministers of Kuwait, Egypt, and Turkiye to discuss the latest regional developments.

During the calls with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates of Egypt Dr. Badr Abdelatty; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkiye, Hakan Fidan, the Saudi Foreign Minister reviewed joint efforts to de-escalate tensions and help maintain regional security and stability, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
Saudi Foreign Minister participates in GCC meeting
Earlier, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah took part in a Gulf Cooperation Council ministerial coordination meeting in New York ahead of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of Bahrain’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations and focused on the main issues expected to be discussed during the General Assembly.

Discussions also addressed the current situation and regional developments, their implications for regional security and stability, and ways to enhance cooperation and coordination in addressing ongoing challenges.
Saudi Arabia reaffirms commitment to international peace, security
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan had said the Kingdom’s participation in the high-level session of the United Nations General Assembly reflected its commitment to supporting international peace and security, promoting dialogue and mediation, and contributing to efforts to address shared global challenges.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Faisal said that the Kingdom views the proceedings of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, held under the theme “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All,” as an opportunity to reaffirm the principles on which international institutions, foremost among them the United Nations, were established.
“These principles include fulfilling their role in promoting security and peace, upholding international law and norms, and strengthening international cooperation in addressing crises.”

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Saturday arrived in New York City, United States, to head the Kingdom’s delegation in the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Kingdom’s participation in this year’s High-Level Week of the General Assembly reflects its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and multilateral action, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
