RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held separate phone conversations with the foreign ministers of Italy and Spain and discussed regional developments as well as the terrorist attack by the Houthi militia targeting the southern region of the Kingdom.
The Foreign Ministry, in a statement said on Tuesday, said that Prince Faisal conducted two phone calls with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Antonio Tajani, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, José Manuel Albares.
During the calls, the European foreign ministers strongly condemned the Houthi militia terrorist attack targeting the southern region of Saudi Arabia.

They also emphasised the importance of maintaining the security and freedom of maritime navigation in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea and rejected any actions or practices that threaten the security and safety of navigation in them.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Tuesday also spoke with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul and the Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Dr. Gedion Timotheos, and discussed regional developments.
Saudi Arabia rejects Houthi allegations
Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet strongly condemned baseless claims and false accusations made by the terrorist Houthi militia, along with its involvement in regional conflict to advance its sinister agenda and objectives.

The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s continued support for the Yemeni people and their legitimate government, as well as its commitment to taking firm measures to protect its security and vessels in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
It noted that these actions have exacerbated the suffering of the Yemeni people and threatened regional security and stability.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry also condemned and rejected claims by a Houthi military spokesperson that the group had imposed a maritime blockade on the Kingdom.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strongest condemnation of the allegations made by the so-called military spokesperson of the Houthi terrorist militia, who accused the Kingdom of besieging the brotherly Yemeni people and claimed the imposition of a maritime blockade on the Kingdom”, the ministry said in a statement.
