JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet on Tuesday strongly condemned baseless claims and false accusations made by the terrorist Houthi militia, along with its involvement in regional conflict to advance its sinister agenda and objectives.
The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s continued support for the Yemeni people and their legitimate government, as well as its commitment to taking firm measures to protect its security and vessels in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
It noted that these actions have exacerbated the suffering of the Yemeni people and threatened regional security and stability.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held in Jeddah.
Earlier, the Saudi Foreign Ministry strongly condemned and rejected claims by a Houthi military spokesperson that the group had imposed a maritime blockade on the Kingdom.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strongest condemnation of the allegations made by the so-called military spokesperson of the Houthi terrorist militia, who accused the Kingdom of besieging the brotherly Yemeni people and claimed the imposition of a maritime blockade on the Kingdom”, the ministry said in a statement.

At the outset of the session, the Cabinet was briefed on the phone call received by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, who expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support and efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
Saudi cabinet backs Gulf allies, urges end to regional escalation
The Cabinet reaffirmed its solidarity and full support for Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, backing the measures taken by the three countries in response to the blatant Iranian aggression violating international law and principles of good neighborliness.
The Cabinet stressed the urgent need to end all military escalation to protect regional stability, security, and the safety of affected populations.
Cabinet highlights UN engagement, economic progress
Following the session, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and Acting Minister of Media Ahmed Al-Rajhi told the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of the Kingdom’s active participation in major international forums.

The Cabinet commended the collective national efforts showcased during the 2026 UN High-Level Political Forum and highlighted progress made in Saudi Arabia’s third Voluntary National Review report.
The report outlined the Kingdom’s achievements in advancing Sustainable Development Goals, including water security, renewable energy, healthcare services, digital transformation, industrial development, and inclusive economic growth.
Kingdom advances sustainable urban development
The Cabinet also reviewed discussions from the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Meeting on the New Urban Agenda, emphasising Saudi Arabia’s progress in developing sustainable cities and improving quality of life.
Key achievements include increased homeownership among Saudi families, greater availability of public spaces per capita, improved transportation networks, and wider community participation in urban planning initiatives.
Economic reforms boost growth and investor confidence
The Cabinet examined economic reports, statistics, and performance indicators reflecting the positive impact of the Kingdom’s reforms and development policies. It noted the continued stability of annual inflation at 1.8 percent, a rate that remains low compared with many advanced and emerging economies.
The Cabinet further highlighted Saudi Arabia’s ranking as the world’s 13th-largest recipient of foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2025, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
It said the achievement reflects the Kingdom’s growing appeal as a global investment hub, driven by economic reforms, investor confidence, and the competitiveness of strategic sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, advanced industries, and logistics. Net FDI inflows increased by 53 percent to reach $32.6 billion.
