RIYADH: Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on Tuesday inaugurated new facilities at King Salman Air Base aimed at enhancing the combat readiness of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Crown Prince toured the newly completed facilities, receiving briefings on the technical, administrative, and residential areas, all constructed to the highest international military standards.
He was provided with an overview of the construction phases and engineering features, designed to enhance the Air Force’s combat readiness and support the Armed Forces in planning, command, control, logistics, and joint operations.
During the opening ceremony, a video presentation highlighted the project’s implementation, which began in Q3 2021 and was completed over 38 months.
Built in the Salmani architectural style, the project reflects Riyadh’s cultural identity and contemporary urban trends.
The development spans 115 buildings covering over 126,000 square meters, featuring runways, aircraft parking aprons, helicopter pads, hangars, an air traffic control tower, as well as technical, administrative, residential, and security facilities.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, along with senior civil and military officials.
