RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry on Saturday warned against violating Hajj regulations by performing or attempting to perform the Hajj pilgrimage without a permit.

The ministry stated that the warning is in effect from Dhu Al-Qi’dah 1 until the end of Dhu Al-Hijjah 14, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The interior ministry clarified that individuals caught performing or attempting to perform the Hajj pilgrimage without a permit will face a fine of up to Saudi Riyal 20,000.

Resident violators will be deported to their home countries and banned from re-entering the Kingdom for a period of 10 years, the ministry stated.

The Ministry of Interior urged all citizens and residents to strictly adhere to Hajj regulations and to cooperate with the competent authorities to ensure the security and safety of the pilgrims.

The ministry further emphasised that any violation of these regulations will subject the offenders to the prescribed legal penalties.

The interior ministry encouraged the public to report any violators of these regulations by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions, and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom.
