RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Oman have stressed the importance of maintaining waterway security, ensuring freedom of navigation, and supporting peaceful dialogue to resolve disputes and enhance regional stability.
The views were expressed during a meeting between Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and Omani Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, in Muscat, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed relations between the two countries and their peoples and discussed ways to strengthen them to serve mutual interests, elevate bilateral cooperation, and advance joint Gulf action.

Following their meeting, the two ministers held an official session of talks to review cooperation and enhance their strategic partnership across various fields.
The two sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments, with particular focus on the Strait of Hormuz. They stressed the importance of safeguarding maritime security, ensuring freedom of navigation, and promoting dialogue and diplomacy to resolve disputes and strengthen regional stability.
They also reviewed key strategic initiatives, including the land border crossing project, transport infrastructure, and logistics connectivity aimed at advancing regional integration.

In addition, both sides explored ways to expand economic, trade, and investment cooperation by encouraging public-private partnerships and leveraging opportunities in promising sectors to support the shared aspirations of their leaderships.
Trump threatens more strikes on Iran
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said the United States would carry out more strikes on Iran, declaring, “We’re probably going to hit them hard again tonight,” after he insisted the US-Iran ceasefire was effectively over following the two sides exchanged fresh military strikes.
Speaking to reporters during a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit, Trump said the United States will carry out further strikes on Iran tonight.
“We hit them very hard last night … we’re probably going to hit them hard again tonight,” the US President told reporters. “I’ll give them a little warning; we’re going to hit them hard tonight.”
Trump declares US-Iran ceasefire ‘over’
Earlier, while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump on declared the US-Iran ceasefire effectively over, saying he no longer wanted to negotiate with Tehran.
Trump said he considered the ceasefire finished despite a memorandum of understanding signed on June 17 that halted hostilities and established a 60-day framework for negotiating a permanent peace agreement.
