RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Ireland have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the air transport sector, aimed at expanding aviation links and supporting closer collaboration between the two nations.
President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, signed a record of discussions with the Irish Aviation Authority at GACA headquarters in Riyadh. The Irish delegation was represented by Ireland’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Gerry Cunningham, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
The countries aim to boost cooperation, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and support the development of air connectivity and commercial opportunities.
The record of discussions is aligned with the principles and provisions of the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, which serves as the foundation for international aviation cooperation and safety standards.
The initiative underscores both countries’ commitment to expanding bilateral relations, promoting efficient air transport services, and fostering greater collaboration in civil aviation.
