ABU DHABI: The Pakistan Pavilion at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) 2026, showcasing the country’s rich literary, cultural and intellectual heritage, has drawn interest from a large number of visitors and members of the publishing community.
The pavilion features a diverse selection of publications from the National Book Foundation, Book Corner Pakistan and other leading Pakistani publishers, according to a statement issued by the Pakistan Embassy.
The pavilion was inaugurated on Sunday by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Shafqat Ali Khan, at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi.
Representatives of the country’s literary and publishing sectors, including National Book Foundation Director Headquarters Murad Ali Mohmand, Book Corner Pakistan Director Amar Shahid and Urdu Books World Co-Founder Sarmad Khan, attended the ceremony.
Showcasing Pakistan’s literary heritage
The collection includes Urdu and English literature, children’s books, history, education, culture, religion, poetry, fiction, biographies, and contemporary works.

Following the inauguration, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan toured the pavilion and met participating publishers. He praised their efforts to promote Pakistani literature internationally and reaffirmed the Embassy’s support for expanding the country’s literary and cultural presence in the UAE.
Strengthening Pakistan-UAE cultural ties
The ambassador also met Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, which organises the book fair.
The two sides discussed opportunities to strengthen Islamabad-Abu Dhabi cooperation in literature, publishing, translation, education and cultural exchange.
Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan also appreciated the Language Centre’s efforts to bring together publishers, authors and cultural institutions from around the world through the annual book fair.
Pavilion open to visitors
The Pavilion is located at Hall 5, Stand 5E24 at the ADNEC Centre and will remain open from 13 to 18 September, from 9 am to 10 pm daily.
The pavilion provides visitors with an opportunity to explore the South Asian nation’s diverse literary and publishing landscape and discover works reflecting the country’s cultural and intellectual traditions.
