BRUSSELS: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Monday condemned the ongoing attacks in the Gulf region following the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia, for which the Houthis in Yemen claimed responsibility, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
In a press statement, von der Leyen expressed the European Commission’s solidarity with the Gulf states in confronting the ongoing attacks against them, saying, “We are all concerned about this.”
Several countries strongly condemned the Houthi militia for attacks on civilians, civilian infrastructure and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier today, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over the situation in the Middle East, including attacks targeting Saudi Arabia. It strongly condemned any hostile actions against civilians, civilian infrastructure, and energy facilities, as well as any acts threatening the security of regional states and international navigation.

The ministry reaffirmed the need to adhere to international law, including respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and called for resolving conflicts through political and diplomatic means based on dialogue and mutual respect.
It also expressed support for UN and regional efforts to de-escalate tensions and achieve lasting peace in the Middle East.
