LAHORE: Multan Sultans opener Sahibzada Farhan delivered a stunning century in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Wednesday, matching a record held by India’s Virat Kohli and edging closer to Babar Azam’s tally of T20 hundreds.
Farhan remained unbeaten on a brilliant 106 from 57 deliveries in the PSL 11 encounter against Hyderabad Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium. His innings, featuring eight sixes and seven fours, marked his ninth century in T20 cricket, achieved in his 166th match.

South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw also has nine centuries, though he reached the milestone in 393 matches, while Australia’s David Warner sits fourth with 10. West Indies great Chris Gayle continues to lead the list with an extraordinary 22 centuries in 463 games.
Earlier, Hyderabad Kingsmen posted a strong total of 225-5 after electing to bat first. Maaz Sadaqat led the scoring with an explosive 62 off 26 balls, while Sharjeel Khan contributed an unbeaten 51.
For Multan, Mohammad Wasim Jr was the standout bowler with two wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz, Peter Siddle and skipper Ashton Turner picked up one each.
In reply, the Sultans chased down the 226-run target with four wickets in hand and eight balls remaining. Farhan anchored the innings, supported by Steve Smith (46) and Shan Masood (29), before finishing the chase alongside Arafat Minhas, who added an unbeaten 26.
