KREMLIN: Moscow on Monday lashed out at the United States (US) and European Union (EU) after they imposed their latest sanctions against Russia for its aggression against Ukraine.
Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, told said that the EU’s latest round of sanctions, adopted last week, was “absurd.”
The EU’s sanctions, which target 121 individuals and entities, are the tenth round of penalties aimed at undercutting Russia’s financial facilities and military supplies for the conflict.
Peskov said Western states were struggling to find more people and entities to punish, which explains the illogical listing of individuals and entities.
EU sanctions hit dozens of Russian businesses
The latest EU sanctions hit dozens of Russian businesses and state agencies, including three banks.
Being on the list translates into an asset freeze in the European Union and a visa ban.
