LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the 12th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be played from March 18 to May 2, 2027.
The window for PSL 12 was finalised following consultations with owners and representatives of all eight franchises during a governing council meeting in London on September 1.

The PCB said the complete schedule, venues and ticketing arrangements will be announced later as preparations for the new season gather pace.
Squad-building process to begin
The next stage of preparations will focus on assembling squads, with direct signings, player retentions, a trade window and the player auction all forming part of the process.

PSL expanded to eight teams in 2026 following the addition of Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz. The previous season also marked the league’s transition from a player draft to an auction system.
A total of 103 players were sold during the inaugural auction in February. Players retained or acquired at that auction were handed two-year contracts covering PSL 11 and PSL 12, while franchises can retain up to seven players for the 2027 season.
PCB expects another strong season
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 11 demonstrated the league’s potential through memorable matches, strong attendances and record broadcast figures.
“HBL PSL 12 will raise the bar further,” Naqvi said, adding that the PCB was committed to delivering another outstanding season.
PSL chief executive Salman Naseer said the announcement marked the beginning of preparations for the 2027 tournament, with direct signings, retentions, trades and the auction set to generate interest in the coming months.
Peshawar Zalmi will enter PSL 12 as defending champions after beating debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the PSL 11 final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
The eight participating franchises are Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz.
