KARACHI: Karachi Kings posted a formidable 188 runs against Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 20th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Saturday.
Top order falls early but recovery follows
Karachi’s innings got off to a disastrous start when Reeza Hendricks fell for just 2 off 4 balls, caught by Akif Javed off Mohammad Ali in the first over. Muhammad Waseem (25 off 19) and Salman Agha (24 off 16) then added 45 runs for the second wicket before both fell to young pacer Hunain Shah, leaving the Kings at 59 for 3 in the 8th over.
Saad Baig anchors, then retires out
Saad Baig played a composed knock of 53 off 37 balls, striking six boundaries. He steadied the innings alongside Azam Khan, who contributed 26 off 19 balls with one four and two sixes. The pair added 61 runs for the fourth wicket.
In an unusual tactical move, Saad Baig was retired out after reaching his half-century, making way for captain Moeen Ali to accelerate.

Moeen Ali’s late fireworks
Moeen Ali produced a breathtaking cameo, smashing 44 runs off just 16 deliveries at a staggering strike rate of 275. His innings included one four and five towering sixes, propelling Karachi past the 170-run mark.
However, the Kings lost momentum toward the end. Moeen was caught off Mohammad Ali (2 for 35), while Abbas Afridi fell for a duck. Khushdil Shah (7) was run out on the final ball of the innings.
Hunain Shah shines with ball
For Hyderabad Kingsmen, young pacer Hunain Shah was the standout bowler, returning impressive figures of 3 for 19 from his four overs, including the key wickets of Salman Agha, Muhammad Waseem, and Abbas Afridi.
Mohammad Ali supported with 2 for 35, while captain Marnus Labuschagne chipped in with one wicket.
