Pakistan stresses sustained engagement
Earlier, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Dar addressed the closing session of the Regional Envoys’ Conference held from May 14-18 in Islamabad to review regional and global developments as well as its bilateral relations with brotherly countries, a Foreign Office statement said.
Addressing the session, Dar stressed the importance of sustained engagement amid Islamabad-led diplomatic efforts to end the conflict between the US and Iran.
The Deputy PM underscored Pakistan’s longstanding, historic and brotherly relations with the Gulf countries.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen these important partnerships across political, economic, and people-to-people dimensions.

The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing economic engagement and promoting regional peace and stability.
Ishaq Dar also highlighted Pakistan’s constructive and facilitative role in promoting regional peace and stability, and stressed the importance of sustained engagement.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has continued diplomatic efforts to facilitate dialogue between Tehran and Washington and to de-escalate the ongoing conflict through diplomacy and dialogue.
Pakistan brokered a ceasefire between Tehran and Washington on April 8 that halted the war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
On April 11 and 12, Pakistan hosted high-stakes direct talks between the US and Iranian negotiators in Islamabad.
The Islamabad Talks between the US and Iran concluded without a final agreement; however, they paved the way for further negotiations between Washington and Tehran to permanently resolve the conflict.
