Palestinian, French Presidents Discuss Developments in Gaza

RAMALLAH: Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas met with French President, Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday and discussed the latest situation in Gaza, Arab media reported.

The two sides exchanged views on the Palestinian stage, along with the challenging circumstances faced by the Palestinian people due to the Israeli aggression that has killed thousands of innocent civilians.

UNSC must stop Israeli aggression

Abbas during the meeting asked the United Nations Security Council to immediately stop the Israeli aggression and provide the urgent international protection to Palestinian people. He said that an an international peace conference should be convened to ensure transition to the political solution through implementing the two-state solution.

He also stressed the need for opening permanent humanitarian relief corridors to get medical and food items into Palestine. He said water, electricity, fuel and other essentials should be provided to Palestinians without any hinderance.

Palestinian President said the Israeli occupation forces were responsible for exterminating entire families.

He regretted that some nations emboldened Israel to intensify its aggressive actios against Palestinians without accountability or punishment.

Macron during the meeting underscored the principle stance of the two-state solution to help Palestinians and Israelis live side by side in peace and security.
