Pakistani PM Discusses Middle East Peace Efforts with Kuwaiti Crown Prince and Malaysian PM

Leaders exchange warm greetings, discuss Gaza and Lebanon crises, and praise Pakistan's diplomatic push for stability.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held separate telephone conversations with the Crown Prince of Kuwait and the Prime Minister of Malaysia on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, exchanging warm greetings and reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and regional peace.

On his X account, Sharif described his conversation with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Mubarak Al Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, as “most cordial.” The two leaders exchanged Eid greetings and reaffirmed the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kuwait.

The Prime Minister conveyed his respectful regards to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah and thanked the Kuwaiti leadership for its steadfast support for Pakistan’s sincere peace efforts in the region.

He also reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with the leadership and brotherly people of Kuwait on the loss of precious lives and property resulting from attacks during the current conflict.

The two leaders discussed the ongoing regional situation and underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and collective efforts for lasting peace and stability.

Separately, Pakistan Premiere held a telephone conversation with his Malaysian counterpart, Anwar Ibrahim. During the warm and cordial call, the Prime Minister conveyed heartfelt Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the Malaysian leader and the brotherly people of Malaysia.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim warmly reciprocated the greetings for PM Sharif and the people of Pakistan, and also conveyed special regards for former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

The Malaysian Prime Minister acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s role in regional peace efforts and the ongoing initiatives to ensure a durable peace settlement. He prayed for further strength and success for the Prime Minister and his team.

Thanking his Malaysian counterpart, PM Shehbaz briefed Anwar Ibrahim on the latest developments in the peace efforts. The Prime Minister said progress could not have been possible without the contribution of brotherly countries, including Malaysia. He noted that it was due to the untiring diplomatic efforts of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the active role played by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar that Pakistan had been able to move the peace process forward.

The Malaysian Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes for Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and appreciated Pakistan’s peace initiative, which he said was in accordance with the ideology and vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Both leaders also expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence in Lebanon as well as the deteriorating situation in Gaza.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said he looks forward to meeting Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the earliest opportunity, either in Islamabad, Kuala Lumpur, or on the sidelines of any other event. The two Prime Ministers agreed to remain in close contact on developments in the region.
