ISLAMABAD: Pakistan women’s cricket team received a major ranking boost just weeks before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England, with several white-ball stars making impressive gains on the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings following a dominant 3-0 series sweep over Zimbabwe in Karachi.

The timely surge in rankings, led by captain Fatima Sana, spinner Sadia Iqbal, and veteran left-armer Nashra Sandhu, has injected fresh momentum into Pakistan’s preparations for the expanded 12-team global event, which begins on June 12 across seven English venues.

Fatima Sana climbs both batting and bowling charts

Skipper Fatima Sana was adjudged Player of the Match in the series finale after an unbeaten 62. The talented all-rounder gained four spots to move to 23rd overall among T20I batters, achieving a new career-high rating.

Fatima also collected five wickets across the three-match series, jumping six places to equal 29th on the T20I bowlers’ list.

Spinners dominate rankings update

Teammate Nashra Sandhu gained one spot to move to equal seventh on the bowling rankings following her five scalps during the Zimbabwe series.

Another Pakistan spinner, Sadia Iqbal, remains at the very top of the T20I bowlers’ rankings after taking six wickets against Zimbabwe, while Tuba Hassan jumped 16 places to 44th following her decent efforts in the same series.

Big batting gains for Ayesha Zafar and Eyman Fatima

There were significant gains on the T20I batters’ list for Ayesha Zafar (equal 52nd) and Eyman Fatima (89th), with the pair rising from outside the top 100 ahead of the T20 World Cup after some impressive knocks against Zimbabwe.
