ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States have agreed to further strengthen their trade partnership, committing to a more balanced and mutually beneficial economic relationship.
This came during a virtual meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Deputy US Trade Representative Rick Switzer on Wednesday, state media reported.
The two sides discussed existing bilateral trade relations and explored new opportunities to expand economic cooperation.

Switzer appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability and acknowledged its efforts in facilitating dialogue during recent regional developments.
In response, Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to responsible global engagement and constructive mediation on international issues.
Both sides agreed that a reciprocal and forward-looking trade framework would contribute to sustainable economic engagement.
Economic relations between the United States and Pakistan are based on long-standing trade, investment, and development cooperation.
The United States is one of Pakistan’s key trading partners, with exchanges spanning textiles, agricultural products, machinery, and technology.
Both countries continue to explore ways to diversify trade and strengthen economic collaboration, particularly in areas such as investment, energy, and digital economy development.
