ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday strongly condemned the Indian authorities’ decision to designate the pro-Kashmir independence party Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Party in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir as an ‘unlawful association’ for a period of five years.
In a statement released on Monday, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Foreign Office Spokesperson, said that the act of banning political parties is a component of India’s continued campaign to oppress the Kashmiri people, stifle dissent, and solidify its control over the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized the necessity for India to revoke the ban on all political parties unlawfully proscribed in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, she called on India to uphold the fundamental rights and freedoms of the Kashmiri people.
