Pakistan seek strong start at home
The three-match series will be Pakistan’s first T20I assignment since the 2026 T20 World Cup and comes after the national team’s silver-medal campaign at the Asian Games.
Farhan will lead a squad featuring experienced players including Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah, while several young players have also been included.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, will be led by wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis, who returns to captain the side after missing the team’s recent T20I series against England due to injury.
The series will be Sri Lanka’s first bilateral short-format tour of Pakistan since 2019. Pakistan lead the overall T20I head-to-head record between the two sides, winning 18 of their 31 meetings, while Sri Lanka have won 13.
Sri Lanka famously swept Pakistan 3-0 during their previous three-match T20I series in Lahore in October 2019.
