ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday highlighted Pakistan’s keen interest in expanding cooperation with Saudi Arabia, particularly in trade, investment, and broader economic development.
The remarks came during a meeting with Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, who, during his daylong visit to Islamabad, called on the prime minister at the Prime Minister’s House. Both sides discussed bilateral ties and explored avenues for enhanced collaboration.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

Welcoming the visiting dignitary, the prime minister conveyed his regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, acknowledging their continued support for Pakistan.
Recalling his recent interaction with the crown prince, the premier appreciated the Kingdom’s longstanding financial assistance, noting that it had played a vital role in maintaining Pakistan’s economic stability.
He underscored the enduring brotherly relations between the two countries, saying Pakistan had always stood shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia in times of need — a bond that continues to grow stronger.
In his remarks, the Saudi finance minister reaffirmed Riyadh’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing cooperation in line with the vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
