Pakistan Reaffirms Unwavering Support for Saudi Arabia’s Sovereignty, Territorial Integrity

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday reaffirmed its unwavering support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and prosperity, and stands in full solidarity with its leadership, government and brotherly people.

Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan at his weekly media briefing said that Pakistan will continue to support efforts aimed at promoting lasting peace and stability in the region.

“Pakistan strongly condemns the reprehensible Houthi attacks targeting civilian and economic sites in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he said.

Earlier, spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen (Coalition Forces), Major General Turki Al-Malki, said that terrorist Houthi militia attacks on the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran injured 73 civilians, including women and children.

The spokesperson said that on Sunday, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also held discussions with the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Turkiye. “These calls covered bilateral relations, regional and international developments, and follow-up on understandings reached under the Strategic Political and Defence Committee of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement,” the spokesperson added.

Pakistan PM condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the Houthi attacks targeting civilian and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, reaffirming Islamabad’s steadfast support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia after the attacks left dozens of people injured.

In a statement posted on X, the prime minister said he condemned the attacks “in the strongest terms” and stood firmly with the Saudi leadership and people.

Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia

Prime Minister Sharif expressed solidarity with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and the “brotherly people” of Saudi Arabia.

He said attacks targeting civilian and economic infrastructure threatened innocent lives and undermined peace and security across the region.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s “steadfast support” for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. He also prayed for the swift recovery of all those injured in the attacks.

Islamabad and Riyadh maintain longstanding strategic and diplomatic relations, with Islamabad repeatedly expressing support for the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.
