ISLAMABAD: Pakistan military destroyed several posts of Afghan Taliban in response to unprovoked border aggression in Balochistan’s Chaman sector on Wednesday, security sources said.
The response is part of an ongoing, large-scale counter terrorism operation targeting Taliban positions, according to the security sources.
Security sources said that the army destroyed several Afghan Taliban posts and vehicles in Chaman “with precision”.
“The Pakistan Army’s effective operations have forced the Afghan Taliban and the Fitna al Khawarij to retreat”.

Fitna al-Khawarij is a term used by the state to refer to terrorists of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist group based in Afghanistan.
“Security forces’ unwavering resolve to defend the homeland is ensuring the country’s territorial integrity,” sources added. The sources also stated that the operations will continue until “all set targets are achieved”.
They also confirmed that multiple Afghan Taliban positions in the Chaman sector were targeted and destroyed on Tuesday.
Several posts were reportedly destroyed, including those at Sarshan, Al-Marjan, and Edhi, along with a vehicle and other installations.
It is pertinent to mention that the Pakistan Army on Sunday also destroyed multiple Afghan Taliban posts in retaliatory action after unprovoked cross-border firing wounded three civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district, security sources said.
Islamabad has repeatedly called on the Afghan Taliban to eliminate terrorist sanctuaries within their territory, particularly those associated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), but officials say these demands have not been acted upon.
Pakistan, on February 26, launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq against the Afghan Taliban and terrorist groups operating from across the border.
After a temporary halt on March 18 at the request of “brotherly Islamic countries,” Pakistan resumed the operation on March 26, stating it would continue until all objectives are fulfilled.
