ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has rolled out a countrywide artificial intelligence (AI) training initiative called ‘AI Seekho 2026’ to equip its young population with AI skills and create economic opportunities.
Partnership with Google and tech firms
The information ministry partnered with Google for Developers, Telenor Pakistan, and IT firm Innovista for the program. The initiative introduces practical ‘vibe coding’, using AI tools like Google AI Studio and Antigravity to generate code instead of writing it manually.

Government targets over one million trainees
Pakistan IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the government wants to train over one million people in AI. Under the AI Seekho program, the IT ministry, with Google’s backing, has set a target to upskill more than 100,000 developers.
“Artificial intelligence and technology today is not just for tech people, it is equally important for the non-tech community,” she noted.
Pakistan’s broader AI push
Pakistan has been advancing in AI, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announcing in February a $1 billion investment in AI by 2030. The country also approved its National AI Policy last July, followed by the launch of a sovereign AI cloud and a startup fund.
