Pakistan, Egypt Strengthen Defence Ties with ‘Thunder-II’ Drill

Joint military excercise reflects depth of bilateral cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Egypt successfully concluded the joint military exercise “Thunder-II” at Cherat, Pakistan, with a focus on counterterrorism operations.

The two-week exercise aimed to enhance interoperability by refining drills, procedures, and techniques through joint training.

Elite combat teams from the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Egyptian Special Forces participated, displaying high levels of professionalism and operational expertise.

The General Officer Commanding, Special Services Group, graced the exercise as Chief Guest. The Commander of Egyptian Paratroopers, Major General Mohamed Saad Abdel Razik, and Egypt’s Defence Attaché also witnessed the event.
