TOKONAME, Japan: Pakistan’s PUBG Mobile team secured the country’s fifth medal at the Asian Games 2026 after winning bronze in the esports competition at the Aichi Sky Expo on Tuesday.

The national squad, Mohammad Huzaifa, Shayan Asad, Falak Sher, Hasnain Rehman and Syed Sameer, finished third with 100 points in the 12-match tournament, completing a remarkable comeback after collecting only 39 points on the opening day.
Thailand captured the gold medal with 128 points, while China claimed silver with 114 points, edging out Pakistan despite the latter’s impressive late surge.

Pakistan’s remarkable second-day fightback
Pakistan added 61 points across the final six matches to climb into the medal positions. Their strongest performance came in the seventh match with 16 points, followed by consistent finishes of 10 and 12 points in the remaining games.
The comeback secured Pakistan’s place on the podium in one of the Games’ most competitive esports events.
