BEIJING: Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening consular ties, aiming to improve services and facilitation for the citizens of both countries.
The reaffirmation was made during the 10th Round of Pakistan-China Consular Consultations, which was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs on 31 March 2026 in Beijing, a Foreign Office statement said on Thursday.
Tariq Wazir, Director General (China), led the Pakistani delegation in the consultations, while the Chinese side was headed by Long Zhao.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening consular cooperation and enhancing facilitation for each other’s nationals, including streamlined visa processes, improved immigration services, and the protection and welfare of citizens abroad.
The consultations also highlighted the importance of this institutionalised mechanism in addressing emerging challenges, fostering mutual understanding, and promoting closer collaboration on consular issues.
Both delegations emphasised that such cooperation contributes to deepening the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, and ensures that the interests of their citizens remain safeguarded.
