PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has emphasised that the use of Afghan soil by Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan to carry out terrorist activities against Pakistan is unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances, a military statement said on Wednesday.
He made these remarks during his visit to Wana in South Waziristan, where he reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness along the western border, the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement.
The term Fitna al-Khawarij is used by Pakistan’s government and military to refer to the banned terrorist groups, most prominently the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist group.
While Fitna al Hindustan refers to banned terrorist groups involved in terrorist activities in the country’s Balochistan province.

The Field Marshal stated that all necessary measures would be taken to eliminate threats emanating from across the border.
He underscored that sustainable peace between the two countries is only possible if the Afghan Taliban decisively renounce support for terrorism and terrorist organisations.
During the visit, the army chief received a comprehensive briefing on the overall security environment, ongoing intelligence-based operations, and border management measures.
Senior commanders also provided a detailed update on Operation Ghazab lil Haq and recent developments along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir interacted with officers and troops deployed in forward areas, commending their professionalism, operational vigilance, and high morale amid ongoing security challenges.
He praised their unwavering commitment to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Expressing satisfaction over the Pakistan Army’s operational preparedness, he conveyed full confidence in the combat readiness, coordination, and resilience of formations stationed along the western frontier.
Earlier, upon arrival, the Field Marshal was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
He laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument, offered Fateha, and paid tribute to the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the motherland, reaffirming that their sacrifices remain the cornerstone of Pakistan’s security and national resilience.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that Pakistan’s security forces have killed 481 Afghan Taliban fighters and injured more than 696 others since launching a cross-border offensive Operation Ghazab lil-Haq in retaliation for the unprovoked border aggression.
