ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army has delivered a befitting response to the Afghan Taliban regime’s unprovoked aggression in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan on October 27, destroying several posts and military installations along the Pakistan-Afghan border, security sources said on Friday.

According to security sources, Pakistani forces effectively targeted several Afghan Taliban posts and military installations in areas adjacent to South Waziristan and Parachinar following the provocation.

The sources said the Pakistan Army employed heavy weapons during the operation, forcing Afghan Taliban forces to abandon their posts and flee the area.

There were also reports of several officials of the Afghan Taliban regime being killed during the operation, security sources added.

Security sources maintained that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully determined to defend the country’s territorial integrity and protect its citizens against any hostile action.

They further emphasised that there would be no compromise on national security and that every act of aggression would be met with an effective response.

The operation underscores Pakistan’s resolve to safeguard its borders and ensure the security of its people, security sources said.

Earlier on Tuesday, in the Afghan Taliban regime’s cowardly attack, a shell struck a house in a civilian area, leaving five members of the same family injured and resulting in the martyrdom of one civilian, security sources said.

The Taliban regime’s targeting of Pakistani civilians has sparked intense anger and resentment among the local population.

Pakistan on Wednesday dismissed a statement by the Afghan Taliban regime regarding the firing incident at Angoor Adda, terming it a fabrication of lies.

Pakistan’s information ministry said the Afghan Taliban regime’s latest fabrication of lies about the border incident again confirms their deceitful character.

“The fact of the matter is that their cowardly forces initiated unprovoked fire and mortar shelling on unarmed civilians on the Pakistani side, following the pattern and instructions of their proxy masters, India,” the information ministry said.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi had also condemned the firing from the Afghan side, asserting that Pakistan would never tolerate attacks on its people or violations of its sovereignty.

The governor added that KP had sacrificed thousands of lives in the fight against terrorism, and we will not allow anyone to threaten our people or undermine our security.
