JEDDAH: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, hailed the significance of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) during his virtual address.

He described the first meeting of the Bureau of IIFA for 2023 as a pivotal moment in enhancing the Academy’s achievements and solidifying its status as a prestigious institution that amplifies the OIC’s mission.

Hissein Taha thanked Professor Qutb Sano, the Secretary-General of IIFA, for the invitation to attend the meeting. The agenda for this important gathering included discussions on membership and cooperation agreements with various Islamic institutions, including Iraq and the Islamic Da’wah Center in Latin America.

During the address on Thursday, Hissein Taha expressed optimism that the meeting’s participants would formulate a thoughtful roadmap to advance the noble objectives of the Academy’s mission.

He underscored IIFA’s pivotal role as one of the most significant subsidiary organs of the OIC. IIFA serves as a platform that brings together eminent Muslim jurists, researchers, scholars, and intellectuals from diverse corners of the world, all of whom possess profound expertise in Fiqh, cultural studies, education, economics, and social sciences.
