DUBAI: India fast bowler Kranti Gaud has been fined 10 per cent of her match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final against Sri Lanka.
Gaud was found guilty of a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which relates to actions or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a dismissed batter during an international match.
The incident took place during the first over of Sri Lanka’s innings when Gaud dismissed opener Imesha Dulani and gestured towards the pavilion.
ICC Sanction Issued
Gaud admitted the offence and accepted the proposed sanction from Supriya Rani Das of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, meaning no formal hearing was required.

In addition to the fine, one demerit point has been added to Gaud’s disciplinary record. It was her first offence during a 24-month period.
The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Saleema Imtiaz and Shathira Jakir Jesy, third umpire Rokeya Sultana and fourth umpire Humaira Farah.
India Wins Title
The sanction follows India’s successful Asia Cup campaign, where they defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final to claim a record eighth title.
Level 1 breaches under the ICC Code of Conduct carry penalties ranging from an official reprimand to a maximum fine of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, along with one or two demerit points.
