ISLAMABAD: Indian Army Major (retd) Gaurav Arya has, in a statement, admitted that India is involved in interference in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and revealed that New Delhi has close connections with terrorist organisations in the region.
Gaurav Arya said that India is supporting and directing some groups in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Arya said that if these groups in Azad Jammu and Kashmir were provided “a little support and direction”, “something big could happen” in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Gaurav Arya also confessed that India is maintaining active linkages with anarchist elements in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Gaurav Arya revealed that India is using sub-nationalist groups to create instability and unrest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), raising concerns about interference and regional security.
Gaurav Arya’s admission exposes the deep coordination behind recent regional instability and validates serious concerns regarding external orchestration aiming to undermine state security, analysts said.
Defence analysts said the Indian Army Major’s admission authenticates Islamabad’s long-standing position that India is sponsoring terrorist groups in an attempt to destabilise Pakistan.
Pakistani defence analyst Brigadier (retired) Masood Khan said the remarks should be viewed in the context of Pakistan’s repeated claims that India is supporting terrorist groups to destabilise the country.
“There is no doubt that India is involved in terrorist activities aimed at destabilising Pakistan,” Masood Khan said.
He said that Pakistan had submitted five dossiers to the international community regarding Indian involvement in terrorism and subversive activities.
He referred to the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is evidence of Indian involvement in sabotage activities.
Masood Khan also said that India had supported terrorist networks operating from Afghanistan, including Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, to carry out terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
Commenting on recent political developments in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Masood Khan said constitutional and political issues should be addressed through democratic institutions.
He noted that an All Parties Conference held in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday had emphasised that constitutional matters fall within the jurisdiction of the elected legislature and should be resolved through constitutional processes.
Masood Khan argued that any attempts by external actors to exploit political disagreements in AJK would ultimately fail because the people of the region remain committed to democratic processes.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused India of orchestrating, financing and supporting terrorist groups operating inside Pakistan. Islamabad has on several occasions released dossiers that contain evidence of Indian involvement in terrorism and destabilisation efforts.
