ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Airports Authority has said that flight operations to Saudi Arabia are continuing as usual.

The authority, in a post on X, said that Pakistan International Airlines has temporarily suspended flights only to Riyadh.

Pakistan Airports Authority further said speculations circulating on social media are not true.

Earlier, Official Spokesperson for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen Major General Turki Al-Malki stated that three missile launchers used by the Houthis to threaten regional security have been destroyed, and that Houthi attacks on civilians and civilian objects will be met with a firm response, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.

Pakistan PM condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi airports

Earlier, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned Houthi attacks targeting two airports in Saudi Arabia, which killed three people and injured dozens, describing the strikes as a grave violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a threat to regional security.

In a statement posted on X, Sharif condemned what he called repeated attacks by the Houthis, including strikes targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport.

“I strongly condemn the repeated terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the targeting of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport, which resulted in loss of lives and injuries to civilians,” he said.

The prime minister commended Saudi Arabia’s armed forces and the coalition for intercepting ballistic missiles and protecting civilians.

“I commend the vigilance and professionalism of the Saudi armed forces and the Coalition in intercepting multiple ballistic missiles and their tireless efforts to protect innocent lives and safeguard the Kingdom,” Sharif said.

Pakistan reaffirms support

Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and said Islamabad’s commitment to the kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security remained firm under the Makkah Joint Defence Alliance.

“Pakistan stands in unwavering solidarity with the leadership and people of our brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he said, adding that Pakistan supported Saudi Arabia’s right to defend its people, cities and critical infrastructure.
