ISLAMABAD: Family members of slain security officer Shabbir Baloch have welcomed a recent court verdict against Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah, describing it as an important step towards justice.
Speaking after the ruling, Shabbir Baloch’s mother, Husan Bano, said she was satisfied with the court’s decision and appreciated the government’s support for the family.
“My son was treated unjustly, and it was necessary that those responsible be punished,” she said.
Shabbir Baloch’s brother, Nazeer Ahmed Khoso, also expressed satisfaction with the verdict, saying the family had suffered injustice and hardship following the incident.
“Our family faced injustice, but this decision has brought us justice,” he said.
He further urged authorities to ensure that all other individuals involved in the incident are also punished in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Anwar Khoso, a cousin of the slain officer, remembered Shabbir as a sincere, respectful and well-mannered individual.
He said that whenever Shabbir returned to his village during leave from duty, he spent time with friends and was widely admired because of his good character.
Family members and close relatives said they were pleased with the verdict and viewed it as an important development in securing justice for the slain officer.
The reaction comes days after an anti-terrorism court in Quetta sentenced BYC leader Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah to life imprisonment in a case related to the killing of a security official during a protest in Gwadar.
The court ruling has drawn attention across Balochistan, where the case has remained a subject of public and political debate.
