PESHAWAR: Director General (China) at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Tariq Wazir, has said cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts remain central to strengthening Pakistan-China relations.
Speaking during his visit to China Window, a Chinese cultural and information centre in Peshawar, Wazir said platforms promoting mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries were vital for further deepening the longstanding friendship.
He toured different galleries showcasing Chinese history, culture, technological progress, tourism and education, and appreciated the centre’s efforts to introduce China’s civilisation and modern development to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Wazir said China Window had filled an important gap in cultural diplomacy and public engagement, particularly in Peshawar.
“China Window has already done wonders in promoting Pakistan-China friendship, and I am confident that its role will become even more significant in the years ahead,” he said.
He assured the management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ support in promoting initiatives that bring the people of Pakistan and China closer.
“Platforms like China Window are among the most important because they directly connect the people of both countries and help build mutual understanding,” he added.
Wazir said Pakistan and China would continue to support each other in various fields, adding that institutions promoting cultural awareness would play an important role in strengthening the enduring partnership.
China Window has emerged as a platform for cultural exchange, seminars, exhibitions, educational activities and initiatives aimed at enhancing Pakistan-China friendship.
