RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 17 accused during eleven operations across Pakistan and managed to recover 451 kg of drugs, a spokesperson of ANF said on Wednesday. He said that 5.2 kg of Ice was recovered from a parcel booked for Japan at a courier office in Lahore.
The spokesperson maintained that 450 grams of Ice was recovered from a passenger bound for Doha at Multan Airport while 66 grams of weed was recovered from a parcel bound for the United Kingdom at a courier office in Rawalpindi.
In addition, 220 kg of hashish was seized from Rughni Road, Chaman, and 195.6 kg of opium was recovered from the procession of four suspects, including a woman, apprehended in Shalimar Town Lahore. Furthermore, 15.6 kg of hashish was seized from four suspects apprehended in two operations near Turki Toll Plaza Sohawa.
The spokesperson further said that 7 kg of hashish was seized from an accused apprehended near Islamabad Toll Plaza. In Kasur, 6 suspects were arrested while 5 kg of heroin and a drone were recovered from them. The officials maintained that 2.4 kg of hashish was seized from another suspect in Rawalpindi. FIRs have been registered against the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
