SIFC Apex Committee Greenlights Projects to Attract Investments

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Apex Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) approved several projects on Monday aimed at attracting investments across diverse sectors of the economy.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, chaired the 3rd meeting of the SIFC’s apex committee, attended by the country’s Army Chief, Chief Ministers of all provinces, and senior government officials.

The Prime Minister welcomed the swift establishment and effective functioning of the SIFC, highlighting its collaborative approach in expediting operations.

The apex committee acknowledged the global impact of the ongoing outreach strategy, including seminars and project inaugurations, which will soon be amplified through the imminent launch of the SIFC’s website.

The committee granted final endorsement to projects presented by ministries, focusing on enticing investments from friendly nations within the framework of SIFC. These projects encompass key domains, including agriculture, livestock, mining, minerals, information technology, and energy.

Saudi Arabia Delegation to Explore Investment Opportunities

The committee also extended wholehearted support for the upcoming visit of a high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, facilitated through the SIFC platform. The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of making this inaugural visit a landmark occasion.

The committee concluded with a commitment to steadfastly support the SIFC initiative, urging the incoming interim government to sustain the forward momentum and contribute positively.
