ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb announced Monday the withdrawal of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Amendment Bill, 2023.
Addressing a press conference, she emphasized her dedication to media freedom and ushering in a new era of accountability and transparency in the media landscape of Pakistan.
Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb declared firmly that she had decided to replace PEMRA’s “old black law” after genuine intent and thorough consideration.
She declared, “I stand behind the media in our common struggle against persecution, tyranny, and dictatorship. She underlined her steadfast commitment to defending democratic principles and constitutional values while emphasizing her firm confidence in the influence of free and active media in a democratic society.
