MUMBAI: A famous movie, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ starring Hrithik Roshan, will be released on August 4 in India to mark its 20th anniversary.
To commemorate Koi Mil Gaya’s 20th anniversary, the distributor PVR Inox and the director Rakesh Roshan will jointly release the film in 30 Indian cities. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Rakesh shared his enthusiasm for this proposal and explained the rationale for the cinematic re-release of his son’s movie.
Rakesh said, “The PVR Inox team approached us to celebrate 20 years of Koi Mil Gaya. I was thrilled to know of their plans, and we have mutually decided to re-release the movie on August 4 in 30 cities across India.”
He added, “The idea is to relive the film’s nostalgia. I hope parents will take their kids to cinema halls and introduce the new generation to Jaadoo. While the parents will relive the memories of watching the movie 20 years ago.”
The movie Director said it was the big risk he took as a filmmaker, making a sci-fi movie with an alien, but the massive response by the audience response was his biggest reward.
“It was rewarding and strengthened my belief that as a filmmaker, I should keep making films on various storylines and experimenting,” he continued.
Koi Mil Gaya was a sci-fi film starring Rekha, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Rajat Bedi, Johnny Lever, and Prem Chopra. The film revolves around a mentally challenged boy named Rohit, who makes an alien friend and regains his strengths.
