To suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement Indian occupational forces have intensified their violent cordon and search operations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, different areas of Srinagar, Badgam, Baramulla, Bandipora, Islamabad, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian, Poonch, Rajouri, and Jammu districts told the media that soldiers entered their homes at any time, abused detainees, including women and children, and destroyed household property.
They said that the Indian military has arrested many people, including religious scholars in the past few days. They said that investigators from the National Investigation Agency of India and the State Investigation Agency seized important documents, mobile phones, and laptops during the raid.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Bashir Andrabi in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the international community, especially the United Nations to take notice of the killing of Hurriyat Chief Altaf Ahmad Shah and to intervene in the release of all Kashmiris arrested through unlawful means to save their lives.
He lamented that India is persecuting Kashmiris for challenging its illegal occupation of their country.
The representatives of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League visited the residence of the deceased leader of Bachpura in Srinagar and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
On the other hand, people protested in Srinagar on Friday against the Indian government’s decision to allow the sale of beer in department stores in the city.
The protesters, including women, called on the authorities to suspend the law. Indian police arrested many protesters during this period.
The Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema, an umbrella body of several Kashmiri religious scholars, condemned the decision in a statement.
