ISLAMABAD: A 15-member Pakistani delegation would participate in a seminar and Think Tank Forum in China, with an aim to further promote academic and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Ambassador (R) Sohail Mahmood Director General, Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) would lead the delegation.
The Pakistani delegation including diplomats, senior academics, researchers and media persons, on invitation from Fudan University, Shanghai, departed to China Sunday for a week-long visit, said a press release.
The delegation includes Prof. Dr. Engr. Attaullah Shah, Vice Chancellor, University of Karakoram; Dr Ayesha Alam, University of Hazara; Amb. Babar Amin, Former Ambassador; Prof. Dr Ayesha Sohail, University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir; Dost Mohammad Barrech, University of Balochistan; Dr Fouzia Hadi Ali, University of Punjab; Prof. Dr Kausar Takrim, University of Peshawar; Muhammad Ali Baig, Research Fellow, ISSI; Shaukat Piracha, Senior Anchor, Aaj News; Dr Mukesh Khatwani, University of Sindh; Dr Tahir Mumtaz Awan, COMSATS University, Islamabad; Tanveer Hashmi, Jang Group; Misbah Mukhtar, Research Associate, ISSI and Dr Talat Shabbir, Director China-Pakistan Study Centre (CPSC), ISSI.
The delegates would participate in a seminar hosted by Fudan University in Shanghai and the 3rd Pakistan-China Think Tank Forum hosted by the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) in Beijing.
Besides a visit to the Chinese Foreign Affairs ministry, the delegation would also visit various academic and commercial facilities to get briefings.
Interaction with Chinese scholars, academicians and government officials would help identify opportunities for enhanced cooperation in diverse sectors including technology, trade and infrastructure development. —APP
