PARIS: Local officials said on Wednesday that at least two persons were killed when a tourist plane crashed in France.
In a statement, officials said that the accident happened in the eastern Haut-Rhin region of the country. The officials confirmed that at least two people were killed in a small tourist aircraft crash.
AFP reported that the plane went missing while travelling from Germany, prompting emergency services and security forces to initiate a search operation.
Officials announced that the two occupants of the aircraft have been found. They further maintained that unfortunately the pilot and one tourist did not survive in the crash.
The circumstances which led to the crash of the tourist aircraft are not known at this phase and a judicial investigation has been initiated in this regard, AFP reported.
On June 18, French Military officials said that three people, including two army personnel, were killed when their aircraft crashed in the south of France.
