BEIJING: A Pakistani business delegation visited Hunan, China, to hold discussions and enhance exchanges and connections with government institutions, business associations, and enterprises.
The International Environmental Special Fund of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation organized the trip.
The Pakistani delegation, consisting of 8 members, was led by Senator Abdul Qayyum, along with Vice Pakistan-China Business Forum Chairman Sheikh Ejaz Asghar, Pakistan Green Energy Company CEO Khalid Mahmood, and Pakistan Woda Limited General Manager Wang Lihua.
Areas for Business Cooperation
The business areas for connections covered automobiles, steel, household appliances, new energy, food processing, building materials, electronic products, and agricultural products.
On 18 June, the delegation held discussions with more than sixty Hunan enterprises. Representatives from the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce briefed the delegation about the overall situation of Hunan’s industries and the current status of trade with Pakistan.
They underlined the prospects and opportunities of Hunan’s industrial capabilities, especially in new energy, IT technology, engineering machinery, and e-commerce, to upgrade and increase the competitiveness of Pakistan’s industries.
On the occasion, the Pakistani delegation members said that Pakistan has a population of more than 200 million and is currently at the primary stage of rapid development with a relatively low overall financial level. Due to the longstanding friendly ties, the government attached great importance to trade relations and cooperation with China.
The delegation stated that they viewed China as a role model for development.
